Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) & Reports

A Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA) is a comprehensive examination of a person’s function across daily activities and environments.
The FCA is used to justify the funding or supports required for the participant.
An FCA generally involves an interview and the completion of standardised and non-standardised assessments.
The FCA identifies a participant’s support needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate level of funding in their NDIS plan.
FCAs can be completed at various stages of a participant’s NDIS journey, including initial acceptance, when there’s a change in circumstances, or at plan review times.
Report Content
The FCA report includes the participant’s medical history, social history, impact on carers (if relevant), a home environment evaluation, and a functional assessment.
